Joseph E. Zeis, Jr. is a 2016 Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law, focusing on Litigation and Aviation Technology Law with the firm of Sebaly, Shillito and Dyer in Dayton, Ohio.

Joe served previously as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer, with the Dayton Development Coalition (DDC). He was responsible for the identification, facilitation and implementation of opportunities to support business development in the greater Dayton region in support of government and non-government entities. Joe continues to look for technical and business synergies throughout the region.

He serves as an Executive Committee member of TechSolve, a Cincinnati non-profit organization focused on manufacturing technologies, a Trustee of the Air Force Institute of Technology Foundation Board, on the Graduate School External Advisory Board, Wright State University, Dayton, OH, and was past- Vice Chairman of the Board of the National Composite Center, Dayton, OH, and past Vice President of the Dayton Chapter of the Society of Flight Test Engineers. In 2011, Zeis was named Chair of the Ohio Aerospace and Business Aviation Advisory Council, guiding Ohio aerospace industry legislative and attraction strategy for 2 years.

Joe is a retired United States Air Force Colonel, with over 26 years of service, is a Master Navigator, having flown the venerable F-111, F-4, F-15E and B-2. In his last active duty position in the Air Force, he commanded the 46th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy. He holds Master's Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Joe is a 1987 graduate of the United States Air Force Test Pilot School.

Joe is a member of the Dayton Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association and serves the community on the Volunteer Lawyer Project.
