Supplying drugs puts you at risk, even if you're not selling

When people think about dealing drugs, they usually think about selling them for a profit to people they don't know. It's a financial transaction. It's illegal, but it's a way to make money.

Now, bringing their own illegal drugs to a party and sharing them with their friends, that's something completely different. They are just having a good time. It's not the same, right?

Wrong. In many cases, if you share drugs with someone else at a party, you could face some very serious legal charges. This takes it beyond the mere possession and use of these drugs. You're now distributing them to multiple people. In many ways, the police still think of you as a drug dealer, even if you never sold any drugs in your life and you definitely do not think of yourself that way.

Things could get even more serious if something goes wrong. There are cases where people have found themselves facing murder charges after other people died from overdosing on drugs they supplied. In one famous case, the person who died was the best friend of the person who provided the drugs. This certainly was not some anonymous drug deal. It was just two friends sharing at a party. But that did not stop the authorities from bringing murder charges and putting that person behind bars for almost a decade. There are many such stories.

It may sound crazy to you to think that you'd ever face charges as a drug dealer or a murderer, but it can happen. If it does, you must know what defense options you have.
